Searx search engine

Searx is privacy relative open-source hackable search engine run by volunteers over the world which does not log every word you enter in it. May not offer you as personalised results as Google, but it doesn't generate a profile about you and your online activity. Searx is not interested about what you search for, never shares anything with a third party, and it can't be used to compromise you. Searx is free software with no "give-and-take" tactic, the code is 100% open and you can help to make the online world better. The more chaotic Internet is, the more freedom we get. If you care about net freedom, want to be a reasonable user, or otherwise believe in digital freedom, make searx your default search engine or set it up on your own server. Searx assert basic privacy by mixing your search keywords on other platforms without keeping search data. They don't show up in neither our logs, nor your url history. Do you think I'm dumb? You ask. Of course no. We should't at random believe in "Oh yes! Finaly is search engine that guarantees no logs". Under each searx server is a diverse type of human and that man or woman can configure the server to log queries you type in search bar or records ip addressess that visits thier website, but the honest fact is that external search engines from which searched keywords are gathered don't sees your ip or query you made. They see ip address and query source from searx instance. If you set up before your searches some strong proxy like TOR or even VPN you'll get quite reasonable degree of anonymity when using the search engine, of anonymity when using the search engine, no matter which one. Searx against to other search engines automatically remove trackers arguments from the returned URL. Searx search engine has search suggestions as well if configured correctly, there are no ads. Searches can be filtered by the following categories:

An interesting fact is that the file searx engine directly returns magnet links that can be automatically used in the bittorrent software.
