Moving around in Paradise Lofts is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Here's a quick run down of the navigation:
1. TIME OF DAY
Time is broken up into four quarters per day, and an additional four parts per quarter. Drinking, talking, doing activities such as reading or listening to music, consume time.
Clicking the home icon takes the player to their living room.
3. NEIGHBORHOOD MAP
Brings up the neighborhood map. For now, you can only access the courtyard here, but we will be introducing more areas soon.
4. MAIN MAP
Coming soon. For now, we have a placeholder.
You know how this works.
You'll automatically scratch any relevant clues or notes in your journal. Check it to see what you've discovered, in case you forgot. Just like how a journal works!
Get over there and throw us a couple bucks, please.
8. DOOR TO BEDROOM
The other door, not yet numbered, will eventually take you to the bathroom. Until then, you'll just have to hold it.
9. EXIT TO COURTYARD
A direct route to the inner courtyard, where you get to meet the growing cast of characters.
All the circles represent things you can interact with. We will continue to add more and more as we progress.
For the first release, most of the player interaction takes place in the courtyard. Polly and Jane often show up here in the afternoon and into the evening.
It is important to note that their appearances are RANDOM and you can have lots of varying interactions with them.
In the future, many more characters will be added to the apartment village, enhancing the random encounter experience.
You have a great view from your bedroom window to the inner courtyard, and you can use your telephoto lens to keep an eye on your neighbors (and the suspects!).
As the game develops, we will add more and more random occurrences.
You'll collect clues as you interview the people in the neighborhood. Right now, there's about six or so to collect in this first release.
Later, we will update and organize clues as you dive deeper and deeper into the mystery element of this game.
